ListoMax help: guides and FAQ
How to connect your stores, where to find your keys, and what to do when a publication fails. Can't find your question? Write to us: we answer every message ourselves.
How to connect a PrestaShop store
Works with PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9. Allow about five minutes.
Open the webservice settings
In your store's back office, go to Advanced Parameters, then Webservice. This is the interface that lets external software talk to your store.
Enable the webservice
At the bottom of the page, set Enable PrestaShop's webservice to Yes, then save. Skip this step and no key will work.
Create a key
Click Add new webservice key. Give it a label you'll recognise, such as "ListoMax", then generate the key.
Grant permissions
In the permissions table, tick read and write access for at least: products, categories, images, languages, stock_availables, taxes, tax_rules, specific_prices, product_features and tags. The simplest option is to tick everything: this key is used by ListoMax only.
Copy the key and save
The key is 32 uppercase characters long. Copy it, then save the page.
Enter it in ListoMax
In ListoMax, open the CMS connections page and choose PrestaShop. Enter your store address without a trailing slash and paste the key. Click test: the connection is checked instantly and the store appears in your destinations.
How to connect a WooCommerce store
From your WordPress dashboard. Allow about three minutes.
Open the advanced settings
In WordPress, go to WooCommerce, then Settings, then the Advanced tab, then REST API.
Add a key
Click Add key. Enter a description, such as "ListoMax", and choose the user the products will be created under — an administrator account.
Choose permissions
Select Read/Write. Read-only access won't let you create products.
Copy both values
WooCommerce displays a Consumer key and a Consumer secret. Copy both right away: the secret is shown only once and can't be viewed again after you leave the page.
Enter them in ListoMax
In ListoMax, open the CMS connections page and choose WooCommerce. Enter your store address, the Consumer key and the Consumer secret, then test the connection.
Your first three hours
The order in which to learn the software without getting lost.
Connect just one store
Start with a single store, the one you know best. Test the connection and check that categories load properly using the dedicated button.
Publish a test product
Create a simple listing, untick Active product so it doesn't show up in your store, and publish. Go and check it in your back office. Then delete it.
Try a small series
Two or three variations, product inactive, to understand how it works with zero risk. This is where the software really proves its worth.
Check your categories
Place a product in a subcategory and check in your store that it shows up, including when browsing from the parent category.
Test a republish
Change the price or stock of a listing that's already published, republish it, and check that the store picked up the new value.
Make a backup
From the settings, export the full backup. Make it a habit before every big operation.
Common problems and solutions
The PrestaShop connection fails
Check three things in this order: the webservice is enabled in Advanced Parameters, the address doesn't end with a slash, and the key has write permission on products.
401 error on WooCommerce
Your credentials are being rejected. Make sure you copied the Consumer key and Consumer secret with no leading or trailing spaces, and that the key was created with Read/Write access, not read-only.
Images won't upload
The key most likely lacks permission on images. On PrestaShop, check the images permission. Also make sure your files are under 8 MB and that your hosting allows uploads of that size.
The product doesn't appear in the store
Most often, the Active product box is unticked. Also check that the product is assigned to a visible category and, on PrestaShop multistore, that it's associated with the right store.
Publishing is blocked because of VAT
That's on purpose. The requested rate doesn't exist on the target store. The message lists the available rates: pick one, or create the missing rate in your back office. We'd rather block a publication than push a product with the wrong rate.
Variants aren't created
Check that the key has permissions on combinations and attributes. On WooCommerce, the product must be able to switch to the variable type, which requires full write access.
A category is missing
Click the category refresh button: the list is reloaded from the store. If the category was just created in your back office, it will appear after the refresh.
The software seems frozen
A publication in progress can take a while if images are heavy or the store is slow. The progress bar shows the current step. If nothing moves after several minutes, an error message will eventually appear: nothing ever happens silently.
The software
Which PrestaShop versions are supported?
PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9. Publishing is tested under real-world conditions on PrestaShop 8.2 and PrestaShop 9.0 before every release, on real stores, with each listing read back after sending to confirm the store received exactly what was requested.
Does it work with my theme or modules?
Yes. ListoMax goes through your CMS's official API, not its user interface. Your theme, modules and customisations aren't involved and can't interfere with publishing.
Does it work with PrestaShop multistore?
Yes, as long as the webservice key has access to the stores in question. After your first publication, check in your back office that the product is associated with the right store.
What happens if a publication fails?
The error message appears on screen with the product and store concerned. The listing goes into the error list, where you can fix it and resend it, one at a time or all at once. Nothing fails silently: that's the principle behind all of our development.
Can I edit a product that's already published?
Yes. You edit the listing in ListoMax and republish: the store receives the new values, including categories, VAT, price, stock, weight, dimensions and features. Every version is kept in the history and can be compared field by field.
Does ListoMax delete products from my store?
No. Deleting a listing in ListoMax removes it from your local catalogue, not from your online store. Deleting from the store remains your call, from its back office.
Do I need a permanent internet connection?
Only to publish and to load categories. Filling in listings, preparing series and importing files all work offline.
Does ListoMax work on Mac or Linux?
Not yet. The Windows version comes first; a macOS version is planned next, then Linux if there's demand. Write to us if that's you: the number of requests sets the priority.
How many products can I manage?
There's no set limit. Your catalogue is saved in a structured file on your computer, with rotating backups. For very large volumes, file import is still faster than entering products one by one.
How is it different from PrestaShop's built-in CSV import?
The built-in CSV import assumes the file already exists, clean and complete. It doesn't create variations, doesn't fill in listings for you, doesn't handle multilingual SEO and doesn't publish to several CMSs at once. ListoMax builds the listings, series included, and sends them to every store. ListoMax also offers CSV import, as a complement.
Is the AI generator required?
No, it's an add-on. Without an Anthropic key, the software works fully: you write your own copy just as you would in any form. With a key, you pay a few cents per listing directly to Anthropic, never to us.
Buying and licensing
Can I try before I buy?
Yes, and you can even publish. The free trial includes 5 real publications to your actual stores: the listings genuinely go live on PrestaShop or WooCommerce, with their images, variants and eight languages. You check the result in your back office before paying a thing. Every feature is unlocked, no credit card is required, and there's no time limit. After those 5 publications, a licence unlocks unlimited publishing — listings you've already prepared stay saved and go out as soon as you activate. Write to us to get the download link.
Can I install the Solo licence on two computers?
The Solo licence covers one computer. If you switch machines, write to us and we'll transfer the licence, free of charge. For several computers used at the same time, the Agency licence is designed for exactly that.
What exactly does the Agency licence cover?
Internal use by your organisation's team members, on up to 20 computers. It doesn't allow you to resell the software or make it available to third parties outside your organisation.
What happens after the twelve months of updates?
The software keeps working as is, forever, at no extra cost. Only access to new versions stops. An annual extension is available, around €19 per year, but it's entirely optional.
How do refunds work?
Write to us first: most issues are solved in a single exchange. If the software still isn't right for you, a refund is available within fourteen days of purchase. Full details are in our terms of sale.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes. Payment is processed securely by Stripe and you receive a proper invoice you can use for your accounting (VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French CGI).
Data and security
Are my API keys sent anywhere?
No. Your keys, catalogue and history stay stored on your computer, in the application's protected storage. We have no server that receives your store data. The software talks directly between your PC and your stores, with no middleman.
Where exactly is my data stored?
In the application's data folder on your computer: the catalogue and history in a structured file with rotating backups, images in a dedicated folder, and access keys in protected storage read only by the software's main process.
What happens if my computer breaks down?
Export the full backup regularly from the settings: a single file holds your catalogue, history and preferences. Load it on a new machine and everything is back. Products you've already published obviously stay live on your stores.
Does the AI generator send my data to Anthropic?
Only what's needed for generation — the product name and the selling points you provide — and only if you use this feature, with your own key. Without a key, no data leaves your computer.
Can I use ListoMax on a computer without admin rights?
Installation may require permissions depending on your company's setup. Contact us if that's your situation and we'll see what's possible.
